Respironics Profile Lite CPAP Mask - Item #1002371

Post by stevoreno » Wed Oct 03, 2007 3:38 pm

I have been going through some of my old DME equipment papers; the most recent that I have are dated March 05, 2005 and on the list of supplies is my current mask; a Respironics Profile Lite; size M; serial #1002371. My DME billed my insurance $129.45 in 2005 for that mask. The headgear on the list that year was also Respironics; Model #H-507 and the cost billed to my insurance for the headgear was $47.00.

I want to know if I could purchase these 2 items from CPAP.com right now if I wanted to without a prescription from my doctor? I have an upcoming sleep lab study scheduled in 3 weeks; I looked at my orders again today thinking my test was scheduled in 2 weeks; it's in 3 weeks. I'm sure I'll receive an order after the test for these items along with other CPAP items but if I wanted to or need to could I buy these off of the website right now without a new script from the doctor?

You don't need a prescription for masks and accessories. The only thing you need rx for is for the cpap machine itself.

You need a prescription for a mask.

in the last couple months we have ordered 3 different masks from 3 different vendors, one as recently as last week, and none required a prescription.

Your prescription for your machine is your prescription. I no you won't get a mask from our sponsor of this forum cpap.com without a prescription. If you didn't need a prescription you'd be able to buy a complete mask on ebay which you can't.
