Encore Pro & Avg. AHI

Post by 6PtStar » Tue Oct 02, 2007 8:27 am

Just erased my Smart Card and started over for the month of October. Last 2 nights Daily Details have recorded 0.0 OA and 0.2 H and the AHI is 0.2 same for both days. On the last page of the report it shows Average AHI. The Average AHI is 1.0. How can 0.2 + 0.2 divided by 2 = 1.0. I know the Da"M"n series machines do thing different but is this one of them or am I missing something?

That's the new "M"agic Math. Old school should have taught you the correct way to the answer, "M"'s took the short Bus. Jim

If the Data misses two days, it shouldn't supprise you that it can't do math either, "Tanks Forever". I use my Excel spreadsheet, it does the math, correctly/

First of all, congrats on your low numbers.

You mean YOUR math doesn't calculate the same as Respironics' (fuzzy) math?
I'm SHOCKED!!!

Actually, that's what I noticed about the EP program about the first week I started using it. The Daily Details Report numbers don't translate to the Long Term Trend report numbers. When I contacted Respironics about it, I got the standard answer......"It's not for patient use."
I guess they figure that ANY number ABOVE 0.0 = 1.0.
That's why the MyEncore program (and now Encore Pro Analyzer) became so valuable to us.

Welcome to the "new math" club.
