A new mask called, "CPAP Pro"

Post by Dgrendahl » Wed Sep 26, 2007 6:52 am

Has anyone seen or used this new mask? I found it today while searching. It sells for $175 and is seated to your body via your mouth. Most interesting indeed.

Here is their link: http://www.cpappro.com/

This interface has been around for a while with a post such as yours showing up every month or so. I've don't recall seeing anyone saying it had worked really well. Some have reported having problems with drool, trouble keeping it in place, etc. Give us a report if it works well for you.

I'll take you at your word that it has indeed. I tried doing a search on this site first to see what I could find and I got nothing. Does that mean I did the search right? I guess not. I do have a complaint about the search function here...It is less than efficient. I am open to suggestions here as to how to use the "search" function. Anyone?

If you search using cpappro, all one word, then click on search for all terms and then click on posts you will find 165 matches.

Have one that was gifted to me. You really to be mechanically inclined and have a lot of patience to get and keep it adjusted.
It sort of looks as if might have been put together in a pipe fitters shop.
I just want to go back to sleep!

I have to admit that I've been tempted over and over to try this mask. But I just can't get over the price. Not just the initial purchase, but replacement parts. You're looking at $67 to replace the nasal pillows and mouthpiece!! It's outrageous. I use a boil 'n' bite at night to stop mouth breathing, and as hard as I try to keep it clean, it only lasts about 6 weeks. Then it looks pretty bad. I notice the CPAPPro website recommends using a denture cleaner for the mouthpiece, which is all well and good, but once again it adds to the cost! Sheesh!

The decapitated Aura/Twilight/Headrest Nasal Pillow mask comes pretty close to the CPAPPro. The difference is that you tie cloth or tights around your head to stabilize it. Check out Rested Gal's instructions and illustrations, they're great.

Good luck finding the perfect mask!
Cathy

I agree that the Search function on the message board is not the best. Here's a hint that blarg and College Girl posted some time ago. I've used it quite a bit with more success than using the "Search" on the board.

Use Google.com to do your search. In the Google box type in what you want to find, then add this -- site:cpaptalk.com

So, to look for posts about the cpappro mask, even with different spelling, you'd type this in a Google search:

cpap pro mask site:cpaptalk.com
ResMed S9 VPAP Auto (ASV)
Humidifier: Integrated + Climate Control hose
Mask: Aeiomed Headrest (deconstructed, with homemade straps
3M painters tape over mouth

Now, that is some information I can get my teeth around Thank you. I will try the search feature you mention and am guessing already that it will work well.
