I've never had rainout, but I wouldn't sleep without my hose cover. That nice warm flannel feels much nicer against my face (and other body parts) than hard, ribbed plastic.

You've got a clear understanding of it now.

The trick is to not let any cold drafts......or a cold wall.......or a just plain cold room that allows condensation inside that hose.

Think of the problem as a sort of "inside-out iced-tea glass".

Trust me.....the first time you get a snoot full of cold water.....you'll wake up cussin'.

You can also use shelf liner to keep the machine from moving on a table or night stand (the kind that looks like a waffle with the holes all the way through). It is made of some kind of rubber or plastic and grips very well. I also use it underneath rugs on wood floors and under child seats in the car to provide a bit of extra grip on cloth/leather seats. I got a ridculously long roll of it at costco for a reasonable price.

I'm blessed to have a drawer that really wasn't being used. During the night it gets pulled 3/4 open with the cpap inside and during the day the cpap is unplugged and the drawer is shut so that dust and cat hair don't get on it. works great!
