rant from Australia

Post by Moby » Thu Sep 20, 2007 11:29 pm

Please bear with me while I rant.

I feel sick. I don't do sick very well. It's "only a cold". I should be brave, but I'm not.

My nose has dried up but my eyes are red and watery. And my nose is very sensitive to the CPAP air.

I rang my sleep clinic about a heated hose and HURRAY!!!! they have one in stock. BUT sorry, they can't sell it to me without an appointment and guess what, they don't have any appointment today and it's already Friday!!!!

Another clinic (associated with Air Liquide) would gladly sell me a hose, but they don't have one in stock. They can get one if a few days.

I ring my own hospital where I work, sorry, they only sell equipment to their own patients. But wait, try these people - and they refer me back to the Air Liquide people...

Having exhausted the resources in my home town I order a heated hose online through the wonderful "SleepZone" people, and being unused to online purchasing, find I have accidentally ordered about 8 hoses - and PAID for them at $160 each.

Fire off an email and a voice mail to SleepZone - please, only send and only charge me for ONE!!!!!

That my friends is the shortened version of my morning.

On the plus side, thanks to all those posters who encourage sinus rinsing. It helped me get over my cold symptoms in record time.

What can I do about my eyes? they are red and watery and I think there are little people inside trying to punch their way out with darning needles.

Apologies to all those on the list who are *REALLY* sick.

And thanks for reading this sorry rant!

love to all

Di

Sorry to hear about your cold, the little people in your eyes and the awful morning you had, I've been there & done that - went through the same types of situations! Try some Visine Allergy Eye Drops and that might help... Hope you feel better soon.

that has happened twice ordering from SleepZone, just send Don a email and they will fix it. They always check when they see more than 1 ordered.
someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

Hi Moby,

I am sorry to know your cold and upset. There are others possibilities. I understand your feeling......have you try to call 1-300-60-6--24 for help (Nurse-On-Call)? Hope it helps.

Thanks all.

Snoredog, I emailed SleepZone and also left a message. I hope that'll be okay. It's reassuring to get your note though.

Now to gross you all out, I do have some human hayfever eye drops which the vet gave me for my dog. I have used it on my dog, but carefully- so as to keep the tip of the bottle clean. In desperation I used it on my most painful eye with almost instant improvement. That cheered me up quite a bit, and I was able to eat a meal.

So it's off to bed for me hoping to be cured tomorrow!

Di

Hey Di, there's several forum members eating dog medicine for their ailments. If it works, and you want more, ring your Primary Doc and make them call you in a scrip.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel for you, buddy!!!!

Huggers,
Barbara

When I ordered from SleepZone I ordered 6 hoses by mistake. I frantically called them as well as emailing them. They were the nicest people you can imagine!!! Fun to chat with. Very cool. I'll be referring people to them for heated hoses, that's for sure.

Glad you are doing better! Wow - I'd want to rant too if I had your experience. I think you handled it well. Hang in there!

Hey Moby,

This is the place to rant. We've all been there.

Hope that you're over feeling crappy real soon.
