i woke up one morning crying. I had to have my husband help me down the stairs, and I told him I couldn't live like this anymore. I had started to sleep sitting straight up on the side of my bed. My legs swelled, my hands were numb and tingling, and my back and neck hurt horribly. I think this particular night I had spent most of the night in that position . I had to open my cafe in an hour. My husband said I would stomp my foot on the floor repeatedly. ( I was later informed I slept better sitting up because I could breathe better and i probably stomped my feet because they were falling asleep on me). Anyway my hubby said GO TO THE DOC TODAY and I did. She is a military PCP. She recognized sleep apnea right away. She told me I would see a yo yo effect with my other problems. I have lost 28 pounds in 3 months (25 more to lose) and my blood pressure has dropped some. So there are good ones out there. She said my weight gain was caused by lack of energy to do anything. Ended up I have an AHI 120, so she was right.
