Well, yeh… it is a monopoly.
Basically what is a CPAP machine? It is a small pump + some electronics brain. For how much you can buy nowadays a general use home pump? – 20 -30 dollars. Each cell phone today for sure has more “brain” and complex features than even most sophisticated CPAP. How much cell phone cost? 200 at max…

this doesn't surprise me at all. That is why some of us hate that stupid Poway company so much, they initiated this price protectionist policy a few years ago to protect their dealer network by jacking up prices by 40-60% or more and the others will now only follow suit. They still allow their products to be sold on the internet as long as those that do it RIP you off in the process.

All these protectionist practices do is drive up the price you and I ultimately have to pay for cpap equipment, well some of us anyway. This move doesn't impact those with health insurance coverage at all, they cannot buy online to begin with.

This move only impacts the little guy, the ones without health insurance, the ones least able to pay $1800 for a sub-$600 machine. Might as well step on them a bit more if you can, after all, it is a legal license to steal out there, might as well take advantage of it like the whores at Resmed did.

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

You have to remember that Congress for the past twenty years has been passing laws to protect big business and this year the stacked Supreme Court, for the first time in 100 years, has proclaimed price fixing legal.

Yeah, and remember all the anti-trust suits and anti-monopoly actions??? Now, mergers are the thing. Reduce all business to 3-4 corporations at most in each field, like banking, etc.

It was bad enough when Wall Street wagged the government's tail now, they have a throttle hold on government. They've become our behind the scenes government.

You're all conspiracy theorists, everyone of you.

The problem is, I agree with you.

Those of us that have been around long enough have been conditioned to it.
LOTS of us were around on November 22, 1963 and have heard the single-bullet mumbo-jumbo ever since. L.H.O. acted alone?
Have seen the lists of all of the "Friends of Bill" who are no longer alive.
The earth has never experienced "global warming" before?

Have heard "somewhere"......"Everything has been taken care of." (the order was faxed to a DME of OUR choice).
AND.....changing the pressure in your own flow generator is ILLEGAL.

Hmmm. Hey, Den. Remember JFK saying "Beware the gnomes of Zurich"?

Except now many of them have moved their monies to the Caymans, etc. in addition to Zurich.
