New machine with C-Flex, data, and new mask....

Post by jqp » Mon Sep 10, 2007 6:31 am

So I've spent a couple of nights with my new M series Pro w/C-flex.

I can say that the C-flex business has really helped me sleep a couple more hours each night. I think without the C-flex, the pressure was waking me up at 5am or so, so I'd just get up.

Also, if you read my earlier post about getting a new FF mask from Apria, I got the Respironics Comfortfull 2. It it much more comfortable than the F&P 431 I had before, but it started leaking during the night, ao I fought it all night and didn't get good sleep. I guess the Quattro will be my friend for a while.

Now my big question... the M series Pro has this data card in the back. I turned on the AHI and leak rate display (The DME had it turned off) and I've been able to see that. It only shows a 7 day average on the readout, not the previous nights numbers.

What kind of stuff so I need to get at the data on the card? I assume a card reader of some sort, and some software of some sort? Where do I get this stuff?

Thanks,

JQP

Yes,
The card reader you'd need is shown here:
http://www.two-factor.com/shop/index.php?productID=115

It will take about two weeks for delivery in average.
You also need Encore Pro Software in order to read information stored on your card. That is currently not for sale among general public. So people who really need it usually are getting it from Good Samaritans, who understand how badly these people need it.

Interesting... I have no idea where to look for the software then... I noticed on CPAP.com it says v1.8 is no longer available.....

Can i drag my card into the sleep lab or something?

Yes,
Probably you can bring your card to sleep lab or doctor office and they will read it for you. However it is much better to have your own settings at home.

JQP, a little trick with full face masks.....wash your face and mask REALLY good just before you go to put it on and go to sleep. That seems to improve the seal quite a bit.

Hang in there!

Then there must be a lot of sleep apnea folks out there w/weird faces! 'Cause lotsa CPAPpers haven't had any success w/the ComfortFull. Not that it is a bad mask, just that a lotta CPAPpers have had problems w/lotsa different masks. Its just an individual thing. Gads! Who would want us to all look alike and have the same face???

Your face looks pretty normal to me . But then, I thought my nose was kind of average until I tried the Nasal Aire II and found I had to wear the Large size (not the super medium, even). .

I think there's someplace to get the card reader in California if the twofactors place is out. I got mine there and it cost more, about $50. Maybe someone has the link.

cpapusa.com is where I got my card reader for $52.50 with shipping and that was I believe two day shipping. I could be wrong but the shipping option I picked was $5. I've still got my receipt.

OK, I did find the place where I got mine:

You have to choose between the USB and the other type. I don't know what the other type is since I got the USB and that's the common one.
