Insurance is going to allow a new mask this month. Because of occasional congestion I thought having a FF in my arsenal would be good. DME steered me away from it. Reason he said was that during colds CPAP should not be used.
What are reasons to own a Full Face Mask besides mouth breathing?

I have a Quattro full face and a Swift nasal. I consistently get better numbers on the full face mask and do not have as much trouble with leaks (once I solved all the leak problems I had). My Rt wanted me to try the Swift and although it is lighter on the face, I cannot get as good a numbers. Mouth breathing, not as good seals in the nares and my unwillingness to tape make the full face mask worth it.
Took me about 3 weeks to perfect the Quattro. Now I just slip it on and head off to sleep. Spouse says I sleep better than ever. I got a 1.0 AHI the night before last, so there ya go.

Singing makes me feel better. Its because of all that oxygenation.

I have only had one cold in over a year(since starting xpap), but I still used the xpap. I used a FF mask and the cold lasted just under a week. I think everyone needs to have at least 1 FF mask that works well for them. If your nose is stuffed or just sore you can change to the FF.
