I am using 1.6, but was told the SV requires 1.8, so when my doctor gets back in town, I will get a prescription for it.
Are there any problems with 1.8? Installation, etc.? Does it interface with Encore Pro Analyzer easily?
Respironics told me they will sell it to a DME and my DME said I can have it with a prescription.
So...any hook up problems? Has James jumped tall buildings with a single bound again?
Encore Pro 1.8?--any problems installing, etc.?

Installing Software is like pushing a rope uphill.
I have Encore Pro 1.8.65 but could not find it listed
under software.
I LOVE the SV.

I've only had problems installing it on my Sony Vaio S-260, other laptops have not been a problem.
If you have 1.6 installed and running, you can simply install 1.8 over it and it works fine, you should not run into the card reader problems.
Just make sure you:
1. Do NOT plug in the Card reader until you have installed the software, rebooted and then plug in the card reader.
2. Reboot your computer, stop all unnecessary programs found in the Startup menu
3. Insert the CD-Rom and install the software, reboot when prompted.
4. When it comes back up then plug in the SmartCard reader, make sure you plug it into one of the main USB ports and it is not being shared with a printer or other device. When you plug it in, Windows should report that the driver is not compatible, just ignore that and hit "Continue" to install the driver. Once the driver installs, then reboot again with the Card Reader plugged in. Then when it comes back up restart EncorePro, the > green arrow should be displayed when the SQL agent has started the database, once that is green then click on the EncorePro icon, select Preferences and select USB Port for the card reader, create a Patient account if you haven't already done that (upgrading). Select the patient profile then insert the SmartCard and download the interaction. You can select Detailed report from the Preferences Menu by checking the box, you can also control if it erases the card after reading from that System menu.
Some XP machines need the MS SmartCard services running, you can check/start that by typing "services.msc" at the Start/Run box, hit Standard view and scroll down to SmartCard serivces, make sure it is set to "Automatic" start-up and has Started, if not right-click and change so it is.

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...
Thanks, that is good to know. Of course, I would like to make a back-up before I do anything else. Were you able to do that?
OUCH!!!!
I just remembered, I switched BiPaps a couple of days ago...trying to remember what that will mean on down the road...data will change. I am still experimenting with the SV. The speed is difficult to comprehend. My wife was watching when I held my mouth closed and it pushed the mask away from my head ...felt like an inch or more. Probably was a half inch at most.
I hurt my back again, so back to the meds and another night wasted. I hate it, but there isn't an alternative. On the McGill pain scale I hit 9 easily on a bad day. Incapacitated is the term. Literally, if the house were on fire, it would take Adrenalin to save me because my system gets locked up. Unable to move.
Maybe tomorrow. I have already forgotten what I was talking about. We see disabled people every day, but you can't see the disability in the brain area.
If I regress much farther, I would be highly qualified for Congress

Oh Boy Snoredog thanks so much I've been meaning to ask why I had to keep uninstalling the card reader and reinstalling it. You are such a savior.Snoredog wrote:I've only had problems installing it on my Sony Vaio S-260, other laptops have not been a problem.
