As I have told you I am a do it yourselfer. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Back when (that ages you) we wore the fancy French Twist hair do, I had a piece of foam cut into a half moon shape to keep from messing up my hair. The curve was turned backward.. Now I am finding I need that foam shape to curve forward to allow for the hose. I cover it with material, satin or terry cloth. It fits just fine for me. Cost; less than a dollar.. I know I'm cheap.. That pillow does look great. Enjoy!

Snoredog ,now theres something you can use the turkey electric knife on. (I guess)

[quote="zzzzzz!!"]This looks very interesting; thanks for posting it.

I have an unrelated question: On the website where it says "Works with all Major Brands and Styles of CPAP Masks", what mask is the guy wearing in the right lower corner picture?

which sides?

In the pictures of people using this pillow they are all on their left side. Nice notch for the mask. What about sleeping on your right side? I sometimes change sides during the night.

The pillow is symetric left to right.

Hmmm...that's the thing...if you flip from side to side, it seems that you really want the hose going up and over the headboard. I usually have my machine on the floor (or nightstand) and the hose draped behind the headboard and coming down from there. The only problem is that when I change positions significantly, the ribbing on the hose rubs against my headboard (which is basically a sheet of wood, teak I think, so it makes noise). I'm sure I could rig something with an L-bracket and some strapping/rubber bands to run the hose through and keep it from rubbing...but I haven't gotten that far yet.

But I suppose the pillow cut-out would still be good for allowing room for the mask? I've just been in the habit of sleeping at the edge of the pillow, so the mask hangs over the edge or is lightly resting on the pillow (I hate thick pillows and generally go for thin feather pillow types).

yup, that's the puritan bennett breeze...the straps are just attached in the highest position on the headgear

I thing snoredog is right. If you took a regular memory foam pillow or other foam pillow, an electric slicer is usually used to cut such material. No reason to think you couldn't slice a crescent shape out of both sides to create a similar shape. I planned to do the same thing until I discovered I have no chance of sleeping on my side--aerophagia keeps me on my back.

For me, when used with cpap, It's much better than a 100% memory foam pillow
Vader, that's something else we seem to have in common. I use a similar pillow, memory foam on one side, synthetic down on the other. Mine is the Beyond Perfect™ Pillow, by Carpenter Co. I think I paid about $50 for it, so it's not a lot cheaper than the CPAP pillows, but it works well for me with the Optilife and Hybrid mask.

Note, however, I need to do a bit of "scrunching/shaping" to adjust it, but it seems to hold the shape I give it quite well......
