Christy, I think you should start a new thread.

I'd do it for you, but I think that would be interfering

I can't wait to start nagging you:P

Preliminary Update

Post by kteague » Fri Aug 31, 2007 4:58 pm

Hi. Just an update on my medical status...

My doctor called me today and scheduled me for a bronchoscopy on Wednesday. He said something either inflammatory or infectious is in the lower lobe of both lungs. They will culture the fluids and do a biopsy and it will be a few days after before I get all the results. I quizzed him about possibilities. If it is inflammatory, it could be something like lupus or sarcoidosis which are autoimmune disorders where the immune system attacks the body. If it is infectious, it could be any number of resistant bacteria (since I had 2 courses of antibiotics) or something viral or fungal. A biopsy will show if anything is going on within the lung tissue. Hopefully the bronchoscopy will answer the questions.

I'm relieved they are not talking surgery. Now to just take care of this and move forward.

Kathy

Kathy,

I'm sorry to hear about your Mom. It's difficult to lose a parent, regardless of how long you've been "grown."

I lost my Dad a little over 15 years ago, and as I approach 46, it's been difficult to realize I lost him when he was only 51.

So, like everyone else, I extend my condolences, and my wishes that your health will improve tremendously over the next several days, weeks, and months.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I hope that the medical issues you face turn out to be easily solved.

I want to say ditto to all of the reply's here.

You have helped me a lot. I am still a newbie and have a ways to go before I can even consider helping others on here, but you have been a real God's blessing to me. Thank you and my prayers are with you and yours.
