Leak charts ?

I have a question about the charts from Encore on the leaks. If your leak average shown is low, is that pretty much what you worry about even if there are times of small spikes and or some erratic areas and not a flat line? I have been getting good leak rate averages, but that is still with some spikes and some times that have some ups and downs.

Hi Mark.

Yeah, that's basically what I look at.....average number (hopefully it isn't too high), take a look at any spikes (probably tossing and turning), large leaks (they happen)......and hope the next night will be better or as good. If you get a "trend" going with one of those factors, you'll need to figure out what you can do about it.

If my AHI is good, I don't worry about the "blips" (leaks) too much.

Thanks Wulfman, on my daily leak charts I have been usually running less then 5 lpm for my mask and pressure. But the line can look pretty ugly with the ups and downs, and a few spikes. The large leak shows nothing most of the time on that page. If I look at the first chart page of several days where it shows a trend chart it lists the 3 lines it shows more of the large leak (Maybe that is when I adjust mask etc?) But the daily has been looking good since I got a different mask .

I just mainly look at the "Daily Details Report" for each night. I hardly ever look at the "Trend" lines......I rely on MyEncore (or Encore Pro Analyzer) for that.

I've read that the 431 can be a little problematic (leaky).....kinda like other masks....people either love 'em or hate 'em.
But, if you can keep the average within 5 lpm. that doesn't sound too bad.....as long as it isn't disturbing your sleep. I've had "Large Leaks" for a couple of minutes or the better part of an hour and never knew it till I looked at the charts in the morning.

If you do pull the mask away from your face while the machine is running, it'll probably show as a Large Leak (might depend on the length of time).
