Just got a copy of my Rx which has been faxed to the DME. It shows a request for a Bi-PAP with pressure range of 15-20.
This is not a big deal, except that I have spent the last week diligently learning all I could about CPAP and AutoPAP machines, none of which will now apply.
I had narrowed down my choices to the Goodknight 420 series with the Silverlining software or the REMstar M with the Encore software. Do I have to start all over, or can I assume that the same mfgs BiPAP machines will do the job for me?
I'm thinking GoodKnight 425 or the BiPAP M series with Bi-Flex. Does anyone know if the BiPAP Plus M series is the same as the REMstar Plus series in that it can only supply compliance data?
Thanks, I hope to pick up one or the other tomorrow.
I'm also a little concerned about the Hybrid mask's ability to deal with that high a pressure level. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Susan

If I was going to get one this would be it.

It's the Heavy duty Classic. and the HH works correctly.
The "M" BPAP Plus, doesn't give useful data on the card. Jim

Thanks Jim,
That machine seems to have a lot more to offer than the GoodKnight.
I think that is the one I want. But if needs be, I guess will settle for the GoodKnight 'cause I sure don't want a machine that will only track compliance.
It will be one of those three, that much I know because that is all the DME stocks.
Thanks,
Susan

Perchancetodream,
I don't know for sure (I had the same question about compliance only data and the BiPAP Plus M). Everything I have found out so far seems to indicate that with the M series (BiPAP or CPAP) you want the Auto or the Pro (and there doesn't seem to be a BiPAP Pro M according to Respironic's web page). I know that the Pro and Auto models of the M series have smart cards, I just haven't been able to find out what data is recorded if you don't have the smart card (if anything other than hours of use).
I haven't looked into the GoodKnight series as it seems like the DME's in my area only carry Respironic BiPAP/CPAP machines.
One thing, you mentioned that your doctor's script specified a "pressure range of 15-20". Is that an IPAP of 20cm/ EPAP of 15cm or is that a range given for IPAP of 15-20cm? Usually when I have seen BiPAP specified the IPAP/EPAP levels are listed. Maybe with a range your doctor is asking for a BiPAP Auto?

Sorry, I should have written that as an IPAP of 20cm/EPAP of 15cm. This is how it is written on the Rx. Thanks for pointing that out.nacks42 wrote:
