Encore Pro Compliance question!

Post by vdol52 » Mon Aug 20, 2007 2:25 pm

I finally got my Encore Pro software to work and now I'm curious as to what it means.
The summary says 98.7% compliance.
AVERAGE 90% PRESSURE 9.7
AVERAGE PRESSURE 8.5
AVERAGE NON-RESPONSIVE APNEA/HYPOPNEA INDEX is 0.0
AVERAGE OSA index is 1.3
AHI INDEX IS 1.9
AVERAGE AHI is 3.2
AVERAGE FLOW LIMITATION INDEX IS 1.0
AVERAGE SNORE INDEX IS 4.4
AVERAGE MASK LEAK IS 128.2

I thought the average mask leak was pretty high to have a 98.7% compliance.

What should I be looking at and what conclusions shoud I draw from this information?
Thanks

Compliance means The days you used your machine correctly over four hours a day. The meaning of compliance time can be set in the software, but the default is 4 hours a day. A loss of data, such as the "M"agic days off data loss, could result in the compliance going under 100%, as could forgetting to put the card in the machine, or maybe large leaks. Jim

My compliance is using the machine correctly, every time I sleep all the time. Not 4 hours.

Compliance?

So are ;you saying that "Compliance" doesn't mean that I am not having apnea events, just that I am using the machine correctly for at least 4 hours a day.
I guess I'm confused. What should I be looking for in the report? There must be something otherwise so many wouldn't be using it.

I only need to see the Dailies, (Page 4 & 1 page for every day) That's all I pay attention to. The top three graphs are what I look at.

If you imagine a vertical line drawn thru all three graphs, it shows when, something happened and gives you a pretty good idea of what caused it to happen.

I try to keep my AHI under 5, (really I try to keep it under .6, and for the most part I do)

I try to keep the leak rate under 36LPM, no large leaks.... (The mask makes the difference) I don't use one that I can't keep the total leak rate under 40 LPM, that means some like the Hybrid won't be at my house.

My ideal is 32 LPM, but it doesn't happen all the time, it's something that's got to be worked on all the time. On nights I can breath freely I do better, it just doesn't happen often. I keep the APAP on a tight leash 3 cm top to bottom. Jim

this sofwtare is very useful in controlling leaks

Just focus on your leaks stats. Now it is terrible

With most mask and at pressure around 10, your leak shall be around 30

a leak of 120 means all the other stats are of no use

Controlling Leaks is the key. Then you can fine tune the treatment. Jim

OKAY ON LEAKS

That does make sense that if the leaks are not under control, the other stats are worthless.
I guess I'll try it again.
Thx guys and gals
