ResMed data card

Post by Sal_In_Ga » Mon Aug 20, 2007 6:50 am

What information is on the ResMed data card that I mail to the RT? Is it just efficacy or are the settings etc. also on the card? Just wondering about the card reader and software that has been mentioned here.

The data card has compliance (usage), efficacy and settings data on it.

If I have interpreted your message correctly, there are two possible answers.... firstly, what your RT will see and secondly what you would see if you ran the software yourself.

The card hold efficacy, usage and settings data. If it is read only periodically, such as when you send the card to your RT every so often, then the efficacy data will be in detailed for the most recent 5 days, from which the software can construct detailed graphs. It also holds summary information on efficacy for a much longer period prior to that which the software will display in a simple bar graph form.

If you had the reader and software yourself, and so are able to read the card every day (or even every 5 days) and upload it to your PC through the reader, the software can be set to enable you to store the detailed information as it is uploaded, so you can keep it and recreate the detailed graphs whenever you want.

The usage/compliance data is fairly simple so there is not really much difference between the detailed and summary views.

Unless you have been adjusting your machine settings yourself, the settings data wont change.

Cheers,

Bill

ResMed data card

Thanks for the information.

Bill, that's exactly what I was asking. The card reader and keeping my records on my computer sounds really beneficial - I like to know as much as I can and therefore talk to the Dr. with some knowledge. Besides, how can I brag if I don't know something about what is going on?

Also, I have been wondering what would happen if I tried some of the options, etc. on my machine?? NOT the pressure - I'm doing to well to mess with that as long as my Dr. continues to be on the right track and really listens to me.

Will the changes show up on per date basis or can I return them to the original before inserting the card to send to the RT? I don't want the CPAP police after me because I told on myself - I might cry!
