Your profile shows an M Series Pro CPAP. 20 cm. is a lot of pressure for a single pressure machine.....I was prescribed a pressure of 18 and tried that for about an hour before deciding to start at something lower (which actually worked better for me so I stayed there). If you feel you're having problems handling that much, you might ask your doctor to prescribe a BiPAP Auto machine.
Best wishes,

Welcome to the club Sing. All I have to say is wow.... a CPAP set at 20..... I know I couldn't stand a straight 20... I have a Respironics M Series BIPAP Auto with BiFlex my IPAP=20 and EPAP=16, and the Dr wants to change it to IPAP=22 and EPAP=17 or 18... I would test that out and if it's to much for you I would totally request to your Dr to prescribe a BiPAP and if I were you I'd have him specifically prescribe the Respironics M Series BIPAP Auto with Bi-Flex for a few reasons 1 you can use the same humidifier that you already have, 2 it has a nice comfy feature of Bi-Flex that works like the c-flex does, 3 from what I understand it's the only M series BiPAP that is fully data capable, 4 Having the ability for auto can help later if ever they needed to decide to change your pressure, and 5 if perchance they needed to raise your pressure the pressure limit is higher on BiPAPsing wrote:hello all just got my machine today it is a c flex resperonics my pressure is set at 20 i am excited and nervous about how all this work any advice appreciated thank you in advance
Good luck with your first night .

As others have posted, you may end up at a lower pressure than set after titration. Are you using the same mask used in titration?sing wrote:hello all just got my machine today it is a c flex resperonics my pressure is set at 20 i am excited and nervous about how all this work any advice appreciated thank you in advance
I was prescribed auto pressure ranging from 5 to 15. Depending on the mask I use, if my nose is stuffed up, and other factors depending on what my average pressure ends up being over time. Right now I'm at 9, but in the past have had many days at a lower average pressure of 6.
Do you know why they prescribed a set pressure versus a machine set on automatic mode that will deliver the correct pressure as needed?
By the way, welcome! And, best wishes for your first night. No matter what, keep on keepin' on : )
thanks for info
used my machine last nite slet 7.7 hours and feeel really good today pressure was ok didnt have any trouble but during night the machine shut off when i realized what was wrong i just turned it back on and all was ok rest of night does this happen often i had not removed my mask as it was still on when i woke up to turn machine back on no power failure that i am aware of just wondering will this continue to happen or is something wrong with machine thanks for your advice

Unfortunately, being excited to have a "new toy" and nervous/overwhelmed is VERY normal.sing wrote:hello all just got my machine today it is a c flex resperonics my pressure is set at 20 i am excited and nervous about how all this work any advice appreciated thank you in advance
If you haven't already, you may want to visit "Our Collective Wisdom." Click on the yellow lightbulb above. That's a great place to browse through categorized threads with lots of good information. Or you can go to the CPAP FAQ (the big red question mark) right next to it. I found those great places to start.
