DME AGAIN

Post by jum001 » Wed Aug 15, 2007 10:45 am

This is a rant. I left the doctor's office with the understaiding I would have a resperonics auto w aflex for a 5 week home study. The DME has now informed they do not deal with resperonics and I will use a resmed machine for a 3 week study. RT also said resperonics is flimsy so breaks easily and the reports are too difficult to read. Said resmed went to using DMEs only to avoid lawsuits from improperly informed consumrs. Also said users can't tell the difference between cflex and aflex. I challenged her on each of these items, (especially the idiocy re lawsuits as the machines are still sold on line just at inflacted prices). tNeedless to say, the meeting did not end amicably. I am using their machine for the study but will be purchasing the one I want online or thru a different DME as I have my choice of three of them. Surely one of the others will be reasonable???

Well, now. I don't know about "surely". Probably more on the line of HOPEFULLY!

The current DME sure did try to sell you a line of horsepuckies tho! The Respironics are a well-made, very good line of xPAPs. I prefer my Resmeds - but - I do own a RemStar Auto w/C-Flex and integrated humidifier and it is a darn good machine. I just prefer the easy access to so much data via the Resmeds good size, easy to read LED screen.

If users are not properly informed, it is the fault of the DME suppliers and their RTs, not the fault of Resmed, Respironics or any of the other manufacturers!!!!

You will be well shed of this current DME supplier. Hopefully at least one of the other two will be more knowledgeable AND MORE TRUTHFUL!

The reports from the Respironics machines are more detailed. Perhaps she gets confused by them .
