Server Upgrade Completed

Post by Titrator » Wed Aug 15, 2007 10:31 am

Hi Folks,

We have completed moving cpaptalk.com over to a faster server. This should help with page load times.

I have noticed that many are still having issues logging in. This doesn't have to do with the old server or the new one we are using. The main issue with logins is the phpBB software that we currently use. We have very little control over these issues since we did not write this code.

We will be doing a major software upgrade closer to the beginning of 08'. This will put us on a software platform that is coded by our team. We will have more control over its behavior. This is recognized as a much needed upgrade and is in the works as we speak. It takes time to roll out an entirely new software package. We have done this before with our website, databases, and our phone systems. And in my honest opinion, we are pretty good at it. Hold tight and bare with us as we continue to press onward and upward.

For now, our webmaster's advice is to go into your browser cookies and delete anything names cpaptalk.com. This should help. It seems to work well for me using the Firefox web browser.

Thank you for your patience and your loyalty.

Regards,

Ted Nugent

As one of the biggest whiners let me be one to say a very heartfelt Thanks to the entire crew that worked the upgrade.
They are rarely fun -- especially when you are using items that you have no control over.

If you set up the new stuff on a beta platform, please put me down as a volunteer to test it!!!

thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!
cheers

I'll bear with you on this, but I will assume that many would just as soon not see me bare, alone or with anyone else here.

Seriously, I appreciate all the hard work you folks are doing to keep this thing running fairly smoothly!

I wondered if it was my imagination that things seemed a bit zippier. Thanks!

T-bone, you truly are incorrigible!

Thanks to all involved in the server upgrade. The news of further, in-house improvements is very exciting. I cannot wait!

Hmmm, making a good thing even better...PRICELESS!
