White spots inside my nares

Post by Babette » Tue Aug 14, 2007 2:21 pm

Okay, I need some freebie medical advice.

I've got white spots inside my nares. I've never noticed this before. They don't FEEL like bumps, but they might be. Yes, I investigated them thoroughly...

Have they always been there and I didn't notice? Should I go to the doctor? I know white spots in my throat mean I've got strep/staph whatever infection, but I'm not SICK, so I'm not sure what to do.

If this is the classic symptom of bubonic plague, can I sue my DME?

LOL,
B.

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

you clearly have fungus amungus

I would use a saline rhino rinse and use it with the "pinch" of baking soda in the solution, that will break up any dried mucosa and flush it out.

Then blow your nose good after the process.

Well, at least you didn't recommend slamming a bible into my nose, like the last mystery ailment I asked about... (mysterious bump on top of foot - elicited all kinds of interesting remedies. It's going away all by itself. I think the bible slamming talk scared it....)

LOL,
B.

Just hope it doesn't develop into what James Skinner has......(from what I read of his ordeal) that's the way his started out.

You might want to get that checked out.

Rather than go to all the trouble of mixing the salt etc. you might try NeilMed. They make a kit with everything pre-mixed with a squeeze bottle. I use it every night at least an hour before mask time. It sure helps keep my sinuses clear and would certainly retard the growth of little green and white bugs. I use a cup of distilled water and bought one of those little coil heaters they sell to heat water for instant coffee. 2 1/2 minutes and the water is just the right temperture to clean the nose.

I actually own that kit! I just use hot tap water. My tap water gets pretty spankin' hot.

Because the landlord set it up high, because it's only one of those 1/2 size apartment jobbies, and if you set it conservatively, you run out before one of my long luxurious showers...

Cheers,
B.

I hope it goes away soon. If it seems like this is how James problems started, I'd want to get it looked at right away.

his case a perfect example of why you shouldn't use OTC sprays and steroids long term.

saline solution has been used for hundreds if not thousands of years by the Chinese (although they obviously still haven't figured out yet how to leave the lead out of paint).

Not at all, Babs.
Just trying to make you aware of what his initial symptoms were and what he has gone through (if you're not already) with hopes that it doesn't happen to you or someone else.

Try a couple of drops of Frontline Top Spot on the back of your neck. Just in case it is albino fleas setting up a wind power system. Sneaky little guys.

Maybe it's thrush. Maybe an anti fungal like fluconazole would do the trick.
