A couple of nights ago, I switched my machine from an Auto range of 7 to 12 to a straight CPAP of 10 with a 10 minute ramp of 7+.
The doctor reviewed my data and decided I should go from 8 to 10...this was on Thursday.
We for the past couple of evenings I see that the numbers have gone up on both the 7 day and 30 day (obviously both numbers).
The only number that has stayed constant is the leakage, which over the past week has been 47 to 49.5 using the Hybrid and/or the Liberty.
Thank you
Elliot
Switched the CPAP from Auto and numbers went up....

Elliot,
I know I was the one that encouraged you to set your machine at what your doctor recommended, but one of my thoughts in doing so was that you could also report to your doctor what your results were. Now, a couple of nights doesn't necessarily make a "trend", but at least this way, it'll either prove or disprove your doctor's recommendations.
Did you clear your numbers in the machine before switching to straight pressure? I don't know if that could skew the results, because I don't have one of the M Series machines. I've heard that there ARE problems or a bug with reporting some of those numbers and perhaps someone else can share some insight into that.
If you have someone that can read your card to give you the "Full Details", that would even be better.....it would show what happened.
When you say your numbers went up.......what kind of numbers are you seeing? It's not unusual for numbers to vary a little more on straight CPAP as some nights are better or worse than others. Sometimes it depends on how tired a person is or what they've had to eat and many other factors.

Numbers
Thank you for your replies.
They had cleared the card and gave me a printout the week before last. I do not know how to clear the data on the LCD screen...if anyone knows I am all ears.
Yesterday, I switched it to Auto 9 to 12 since my new number has been determined to be 10. I woke up at 7:30 with the mask off and the machine off and I have no knowledge of doing this.....but I do know that the Liberty is not comfortable and controlling the leaks requires an overnight RT to constantly adjust the fitting.
So let's set, the Quattro and F&P 432 didn't work. The Hybrid and the Liberty are just as uncomfortable do to the tightening needed to stop leaks.
So far the best meathod has been the Swift II with the Respironics Chin strap. Is there a FF mask that is comfortable?
Thank you
Elliot
