I've done the same thing. I reach up and check the airflow from the exhaust just to make sure I'm breathing. LOL I love my cpap now.

Congratulations all. You have entered the CPAP ZONE. I have known this for years and many have not believed me, lol. I pull the mask on at a straight 12 and in two breaths am breathing normally. Let others know and spread the word that you CAN survive with this.

Only last week I woke up and was having a lot of trouble inhaling, i kept rolling over and trying again to fall back to sleep. Finally i decided my sinuses were congested so I took off my Breeze to blow my nose and......no air! We must have had a mini blackout and the machine had reset. I turned it back on, inhaled that sweet sweet pressure and went right back to sleep.

I find if I just scrunch up my nose just a little it causes a leak somewhere that instantly tells me I'm getting hosed.

Someone here gave that sensation a name, but I can't remember it now, but yes we all do get what you mean.

So, the hybrid is working for you? I'm pleased it worked out for you!

Most definitely is working for me. My leak rate has consistently been close to the intentional leak rate of the mask and, more importantly, it's comfy. Thanks!

Doug.

i remember my first positive experience with cpap...after being frustrated at first with taking my interface off in my sleep, i finally got to the point of waking up still wearing it in the morning...one morning i woke up and thought, ''damn it, i took it off again!" and started to sit up...i didn't get very far with the hose running from my headboard to the mask that was still on my face! i didn't ever believe i'd get to a place where i could not even feel the thing on my face, but there i was, getting yanked back by the hose...

now if only i could stop whipping it off like a catcher's mask every time i feel the need to jump out of bed and act out one of my dreams...

I get that sensation as well. I use a nasal interface, sometimes I have to open my mouth and let some air blow through, just to make sure everything is on. I think the auto machines were designed with that kind of comfort in mind.

I think you owe me a new keyboard. I'm literally LOL. You nailed it. I suppose I shouldn't drink coffee while reading these boards.

Doug.
Ditto both machine servicing and coffee (or iced tea, or soda, or whatever....)

The board shoud carry a additonal warning: "Use with care, do not add liquid. May harm your screen or keyboard due to uexpected mirth explosions".

I'm definitely there with you. I'm an exhaust port checker (that doesn't sound so good now that I see it in print). It now seems like the thing is flowing too low to possibly do any good. But it's working.

I use a pillow mask and don't have a back-up and the night before last I developed a sore on my nose. It hurt too bad to use the CPAP so I went one night without it. I couldn't believe how badly I slept and how used to the CPAP I had gotten.

I've also noticed that I breathe better during the day since I started CPAP. I used to have a stuffy nose all the time but that seems to have stopped.
