Hmm.... So Resmed is to blame.

If consumers could buy new flow generators and masks at such deeply discounted prices, insurers were inclined to wonder why they couldn’t pay that amount as well, said Sandy Fermoile, owner of Apnea Care in Buffalo, N.Y.
So therefore lets price fix everything so everyone has to pay more.

OH yeah, they left that part out!
Since ResMed pressed eBay, the company says the volume of auctions has dwindled dramatically, from a one-time high of 60 pages to just two pages. Though CPAPs may still make it onto the site, they’re pulled before they reach Page One.

Not so for oxygen concentrators. Name-brand concentrators were selling for $100 to $150 during the same week eBay was shutting down its CPAP auctions. Part of the reason eBay clamped down on CPAP may be the result of direct efforts by ResMed and suppliers. And part of the reason there might have been so many CPAP products for sale online may be unique to CPAP sales.
Thanks Mr Farrell... Gosh, why should ANYONE be able to buy at a discount...

Funny, they quote John Goodman and say he is president of cpapMAN.com and not cpap.com

ebay vs yahoo auctions

Post by tomjax » Sun Apr 10, 2005 3:53 pm

Looks like EBAY has again caved in to pressure.
I still maintain it is NOT ILLEGAL to sell cpap, An ORDER is required to set the pressure.

In any event, I wonder if Yahoo auctions will be next?

They seem to still be offering them.

oh well, glad I have 3 cpaps

Lets nuke Resmed. Their new S-8 is nothing to celebrate anyway. Just another reason to buy a 420. Smaller , lighter, more user friendly, LESS EXPENSIVE !

Like we used to say in the air force. NUKE THE PISS ANTS

Its not PC now

The site also had an article that says Best Buy is testing out a dme store here in the twin cities. Hope it works. Way more competition for the other crooks. Let you know the prices when they open.

That is a scary thought. Can you imagine? Trying to find a guy in a blue shirt to help you, and then once you do, they know NOTHING about the product...

Funny, Mike!

So? What would be new other than a lower price?

Will they hire a crew of pocket protector wearing RTs to drive around in VW beetles and call them the hosehead squad?

I can't say for sure, but I don't think it is a cpap type supply store...maybe, I guess I didn't look real close...

Looks more like a spa for the rich
