Based on whats been done so far it does appear technically feasible (now that we know there is no encryption on the card data). I wish I was feeling better so that I could help out more...
In time James ... just get yourself well first. You have already helped many out a whole lot.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

It was late so I didn't write down the message --- So what other softare needs to be installed???
Mine did this too. It's the .NET framework. I have no clue what that means, but you can download it here:

If you don't feel like installing it yourself you could install EPA first which will offer to install .NET 2.0 automatically if you don't already have it.

Hey James

Post by phil1001 » Thu Aug 02, 2007 6:45 pm

As soon as we crack the data I am sure James will integrate this into his software for a standalone option, I am pursuing the web based option.
This way we cover all bases.
James has helped in testing out the earlier releases, putting his smartcard on the line Its a real shame he is not feeling his normal self and especially for a coder like me, brain fog for one is a serious obstacle and pain in the A. Like James I had to give up my job as I couldnt focus or stay awake.
Anyway the long and short is that James and I are in contact, and I enjoy all input or suggestions both + or -

James, focus on getting healthy

Regards
Phil

Ok

The new installer released lunch today does check for .Net, and if it is not installed, will download and install it for you using the link from amadalee.

And I thought all hoseheads were computer litterate running the latest version of XP - LOL

If anyone wants to confirm that it works (or doesnt) please let me know

I just wanted to point out that the ability of Phil's utility to recover cards from the "Not a valid Resperonics Smartcard" error makes the program extremely useful. In the past cards that had this error where basically useless. One has to wonder why Encore Pro's format utility doesn't work the same way...

The NEW install program worked -BUT- here are a few point I noticed:
#1..Let people know the size of the .NET download - they might be on dial up connections. An want to schedules the phone time!
#2.. installer found version 1.14322 but was looking for version 2.0
When installed it worked GREAT.....
#3.. WHEN SAVING TO PC use smartcard+date instead of config+date .... some virus programs post their data files as config+date....

Did not try format -but- reloading data from a good card back to a card the only gave ERRORS -- restored my backup smartcard THANKX...

Haven't spent much time looking at the recovered data file "YET" but do you know of any prograns that can IMPORT the file??? James hope you can run with this!!!

Thanks AGAIN....

Bert

Well the data is just a big binary blob so there is not much to look at There is no program that can currently import from this format (besides Encore Pro)

I believe that Phil it working on decoding it as he found some information on its format in some Resperonics patents (US #7,225,809 for those interested).

If I was felling better I certinaly be trying to work on it too. It could be a big job depending on how well its documented (or how much documentation that can be located) Its also possible that there have been different version of the data format on the cards which could complicate things but lets hope not. Worse case a lot of it will have to be reverse engineered, not impossible just not fun.

Just take care of yourself and then JUMP IN!!!
It's something WE NEED so any help would be used!!
I was going to upload the PC data file along with .XML file from Encore Pro so somebody might be able to use them as a comparison ???
Will put them up on Plil's --- http://www.mycpap.org for anybody to play with...............................
