Waking up feeling bloated

Post by m1k2s3 » Mon Jul 30, 2007 8:47 pm

I'm hoping that someone here can help me with this. I've been on CPAP for about 3 months now ( and proud to say 100% compliant) and lately, I find in the morning when I wake up, I feel bloated, like I've swallowed a lot of air. In fact, sometimes even before I fall asleep, I often feel my mouth filling up with air and I'm forced to open my mouth to let the air escape.

Anyone know what's happening to me I'd appreciate the help.

It's called Aerophasia. Air is either being swallowed or forced into your tummy. High pressures can cause it. It also seems to be positional in some people. Do a search on aerophasia and you'll get loads of info.

Here's a thread from today with a discussion of it. I mention something I did to keep from swallowing air like you describe.
