setting the remstar auto into the right mode

Post by slowday » Wed Apr 06, 2005 8:32 pm

Ok, I'm finally ready to start using my remstar auto with c-flex. I plugged it all in, filled the humidifier with distilled water and got the hose and mask all ready.

However, on the bottom line of the display screen next to the words led it says C_FLEX . I go into the manual and I convince myself it should say APAP.

So I go into the start menu by holding down the two arrow buttons, plug it in and wait for the beep. I find the right setting for APAP and then exit the menu by hitting the pressure button. But everytime I do this the bottom line of the screen continues to say C-flex not APAP when its in normal display mode.

Now I've been in major brain fog mode for awhile, so there is definitely something about this I'm just not understanding. I tried calling the good people at CPAP.com, who are great people to deal with, but being tired and foggy I don't think I was able to explain my problem and get an answer that made sense to me.

Can anyone straighten me out on what the display is supposed to read when it is turned on.

The only indicator that it is in APAP or AFLEX modes are when you are in programming mode. It will say CFLEX whenever CFLEX is turned on. So when in programming mode it should say AFLE.

Thank you thank you thank you. I read the directions a couple of thousand times til I thought I knew what I was doing. But I'm so nervous about my first night using the machine that I freaked out when the display wasn't displaying what I thought it should. No wonder my wife won't let be put together IKEA furniture. I can't handle those directions either.
