Opinions about the Fisher & Paykel HC431 Full Face Mask

Post by LilBuckaroo » Tue Apr 05, 2005 4:39 pm

I am looking for opinions about Fisher & Paykel HC431 Full Face Mask. I am considering purchasing this mask. I have 2 ResMed Ultra Mirage FF’s at this time and like them, but it appears that my lower lip is falling below the bottom of the cushion.
For all of you former and present F&P users:
1. Is this mask as comfortable as the video indicates?
2. Does this mask leak?
3. Will the elbow swivel in a complete circle?
4. Is it as good or better than the Ultra Mirage FF?

Thank you for your opinions. I value the opinions expressed on this board very much. I don’t want to spend money on something that will not work.

Sleep well, my fellow hosers.

If you look back a few weeks there are a couple of threads regarding this mask. I have one, used it 3 days, retired it. It is comfortable, but not a good mask for me to sleep in, and I'm not the only one. I snored like crazy (according to my wife) ansd felt like crap each time I used it. Also, if you aere using an apap, you can't with this mask. I'd get a bigger resmed if it were me!

If you use BIPAP or APAP....it doesn't work. Fisher and Paykel better get there act together and re-work this design...it's a looser!

Get an Ultra Mirage by Resmed it the gold standard!

Dear Unknown:
Answers to your questions:

1. No!
2. Yes! Unless you tighten it to the point that it cuts off all circulation in your head.
3. Yes
4. No!
I purchased both an HC431 and an HC405 nasal mask. Got so frustrated and angry with the 405 that I ripped it off, crushed it in my hand and tossed it in the trash. The only thing that saved the 431 from the same fate was that it was put away in the box in my closet BECAUSE IT DOESN'T WORK!
I've contacted F&P about these two losers. Can't wait for their response. I'd suggest they stick with manufacturing kitchen appliances.
