I have to actually stand up for Charlie here (On one point).

I also had no idea that this site was run/owned/moderated or officially affiliated with CPAP.COM.

I really just thought that CPAP.COM was such a great place to do business that they had alot of loyal customers who were so pleased with their service that they voluntarily promoted CPAP.COM in this forum in a word of mouth way.

I guess that explains why the forum and the people posting in it are such caring and helpful people. Keep us the great service.

Since I was a barker, I should say that I always accept people's apologies (with extreme exceptions, usually involving physical harm or fraud) and I accept yours. People here know from my more liberal views on the accessibility of this forum that I am all for this forum being accessible and open as possible. I do prefer to give most people the benefit of the doubt. So I apologize for barking so quickly. I don't apologize for barking, only for doing so, so quickly. Yes, many here are quite protective of this forum, to the point that we can be. We admire the thought and considerations the administrators put into this place. Often people on this forum describe it as much like a family, and family members are often quite protective, and may bark early if they feel their family is threatened. People here care deeply about their fellow sleep apnea sufferers. And we want them to feel comfortable about coming to our "home."

I disagree with the statements that this is a free forum and anyone should be able to post on it. Yes it IS a free forum, to discuss peoples experiences with apnea, equipment, doctors, dme and even where we buy our stuff. It is NOT a free forum for ADVERTISEMENT. That is what "better in texas" was doing! IMHO opinion it was a post to drum up business, period.

Gilda,
I do agree with you on the advertisement issue. I didn't mean completely free, really. And I didn't retract my barking. But I might have waited to be sure of what was happening. But I'd probably bark again under the same circumstances, out of that protective need. I do agree, no advertising. And if it repeats much, Admin should block it, if they can. I'm not liberal on that point at all. But I guess they have to give someone a warning, to be somewhat fair. But I will continue to bark, bark, bark.

Good Intentions

Post by N TEXAS » Thu Apr 07, 2005 8:52 am

I want to thank you for accepting my apologies. I think the reality is, I just went about this the wrong way. I have been reading and seeing the same frustrations concerning help for irritations that I had and I was trying to inform and true I guess advertise that the information was about a product that works, but also one that I had invented, that really was the problem here. We have recieved many calls wanting samples and that is really great. I hope the product helps them the way it helps me.
I can tell you this, there is a problem and I am committed to finding solutions so that people will wear their masks and potencially save their lives. It is real important. My mother is a pulmonologist and I hear stories all the time. So say what you will, we are going to save lives. So for those that dont have the irritation problem, well great, just keep wearing your masks, those that do have irritations, we are wanting to to work with you to help you. One thing I have learned about this forum, even through all the misunderstandings, mostly on my part, we are a community and we have to help each other out. This is a life or death issue and I want to be around to see my grandchildren one day!! Have a great day everyone!!

N Texas,

I agree, this is a life or death situation and we all need all the help we can get. I have no problem with the fact that you have or can invent anything that can help anyone be more comfortable using xpap. I appreciate all the information I can get regarding this blasted apnea. What got me "fired up" was the fact that, IMO, you were offended that the forum administrators had the "nerve" to tell you to not advertise your product on this forum. And that your response was that you did not know it was maintained by cpap.com. I found that a hard pill to swallow. If, in fact, you can honestly say you did not know, then I had no reason to blast you and will try to be more forgiving in the future.

I really didnt know

Post by N Texas » Fri Apr 08, 2005 8:18 am

Gilda,
I really didnt know, actually thought this was run by one of the big mask manufacturers wanting money from me....so call it ignorance on my part, I really didnt want to tork anyone on here I really didnt.
If I had a real intent to advertise only I would have given a huge spill about the benefits of the product and given prices and specials...I didnt want to do that, I just wanted to give contact info if any one wanted to try it. Dang I had gotten so frustrated with irritation I was just excited to find a material that worked. I had tried all the things that I have read about on this forum.
We actually have the product being evaluated by some large sleep clinics at university medical clinics...I am glad that people have found bandaids or tape work for them, it is less costly and they wear their masks!!! This is just an alternative that I wanted to make people aware exsisted!!
So again I apologize for my mistake!!
Hope you have a great weekend!!

Boy N Texas, guess your really glad this thread is still going. Everytime someone comments you give another commercial. All you had to say(again) was that you didn t know about the owners of this site. Now we know you have the product being tested.yippee

I have a solution

Post by zachnjoshiespapa » Fri Apr 08, 2005 11:19 am

I can agree with all of you that are in favor of keeping this a legimate site for just people that suffer from sleep apnea.
But on the other hand if Upset in Texas is being legit and that can only be determined by the people that run this site, I think that he has a right to try and help others of us that are suffers.
I only have been on the CPAP mask for acouple of weeks and I think I am beginning to see an improvement. Maybe I am just willing to believe it, because from what I read from others is that it takes months to get used to it and or it to be helping.
Peaceful sleeping from zachnjoshiespapa.
Interested in talking to others that have to use CPAP to get a good nights rest.

The Sleep EZ really works!

Post by ljkeith » Sat Apr 09, 2005 2:16 pm

I have been reading this forum for several months. As everyone else seems on here, I to was a cynic about these strips. The guy did just as he said, he sent me samples and I used it last night. IT WORKED! It really worked. So just a FYI for everyone.... I think TX BOY may be for real!! I will be using sleep EZ from now on.

Just to set things straight, I dont agree with how he approached the forum, but for what I can tell he must be on the up and up.

...and yet, you aren't a registered user, and so for all we know, you ARE the original guy, posting yet another sleazy testimonial for his product.

In fact, your "testimonial" sounds just a little bit too much like those fake ones you see on TV ads. The whole thing smacks of MORE advertising fakery.

Don't be fooled, folks. "Testimonials" from questionable sources are worth less than the time they take to read.

Liam, 4 out of 5 people surveyed prefer his posts.

Registered now....

Post by ljkeith » Sat Apr 09, 2005 3:12 pm

I am now registered!!!!!! Liam, I am not sure why the importance to you that I be registered... go check me out!

To All Others....
As mentioned in my first post... I did not agree with the way "TX BOY" approached the forum but for my own personal satisfaction I chose to call the number that he listed. I received my strips on Friday and tried them last night. (and they WORKED!!) I thought this forum was set up for us CPAP users to share different products, problems and support, so I was doing just that! Everyone was upset that this guy was advertising his product and I wanted to let you guys know that this product did work for me.

I do have a problem with my face getting irritated and wanted you to know that this product did work.

Suprise, he is from Texas too... Tell ya what, send some to Rested Gal, Wader, Derek, SWS, Titrator, or anyone else that has been around here for a while and see what they say. Until then, it is just more snake oil...

Mike who has seen too many TV commercials NOT to be cynical...
