Although I am not a very seductive bed partner.

headscarf (to protect hair when I pull the straps in the night) mouthguard, polygrip strips on my lips, and a mask and an elephant's trunk hose...

to think I used to be embarrassed about the mouthguard (sigh)

I use a http://www.snorban.com device. It seems to work well for me. I also put two strips of tape over my mouth and wear a wide chin strap. My reasoning is.
1) I once had tongue advancement surgery and the device helps hold my tongue forward so I feel that it helps to get the most benefit from the surgery?.
2) I also had UVULA? removal surgery. I understand that the UVULA also acts as a valve to seal the mouth when breathing through your nose. Since I no longer have the valve I think the snorban device helps seal mouth leaks that are worse after surgery.
3) It helps eliminate grinding teeth.

I would not use any of these if I did not need them but it seems that if I do not use all of them my treatment is not as effective.

I have not tried many dental devices so I do not know if others are better or not. The snorban device is formed after dipping in boiling water so if it is not formed well it will not be comfortable. It might take trial and error.
