Bravo nasal pillows mask
Bravo nasal pillows mask
Just completed my first month with the Bravo and I'll say - I love it!
It is very soft, comfortable and quiet. Once I rotated the reservoir a bit to get the correct angle, the seal has ben great. I get no major leaks even when I toss and turn during sleep. I think it is because of the stable headgear. I primarily sleep on my back and sides. It is comfortable for both positions.
Pros
1. Soft, comfortable pillows that seal well
2. Very quiet (quieter than the original Swift)
3. Very comfy headgear, I don't see a need for padacheeks. Unlike the Swift, there are no buckles on the back of the head that you have to sleep on.
4. Allows for different sleep positions (back sleeping, side sleeping etc).
Cons
1. It is a nasal pillow just like other nasal pillow masks. So, you might get sore nares unless you are used to nasal pillows and/or use Ayr gel.
Overall, I like it. I highly recommend the Bravo nasal pillow mask. Great job Bravo and Bravo!

Thanks for the input on the Bravo, especially about the side sleeping. I'm planning to try it soon and the main reason is for side sleeping. I'll let everyone know what I think after I give it a fair trial.

Some things you might want to try....
1. Make sure you have the right size pillows. Some people may need a different size pillow for each nostril. If you are one of them, you can cut the thin strip connecting the pillows and then you are free to mix and match.
2. Make sure you have the pillows installed in the correct orientation. The manual and DVD will help you understand the correct orientation.
3. You might need to rotate the barrel/reservoir slightly and make sure the pillows are entering your nares at the correct angle. I needed to do that.
4. If the pillows need to come closer to match your nares, you can use dental floss or rubber band to pull them closer.
5. Finally, tightening the overhead strap will keep the pilllows snug against your nares and reduce leaks.
No nasal pillow will give you zero leaks. Only nasal prongs (like the Nasal Aire II) can give you a complete seal, if you get the correct size. But then some people can't tolerate the prongs and they are very size dependant, that's why there are so many nasal pillows products.
Hope these tips will help you....

Not true! ... I get zero leaks with my Breeze. I have data to prove it.mecocosm wrote:[No nasal pillow will give you zero leaks. Are you sure you don't work for Teleflex?
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

No defensiveness from memecocosm wrote:Dramstalker,DreamStalker wrote:Not true! ... I get zero leaks with my Breeze. I have data to prove it.mecocosm wrote:[No nasal pillow will give you zero leaks. There is no need to get defensive or insinuate something. Please realize that every post is the individual opinion of somebody and you are completely entitled to your individual opinion.
You are saying that you get zero leaks because the machine might indicate so....Do you realize that if the leak is very small, the machine may not even detect it?
Finally, I don't work for any CPAP manufacturer, I work for Harris Corporation.
I was simply insinuating that it is possible for a nasal pillow to provide a full night of treatment with zero leaks. I have had nights with a flat line throughout the entire sleep session and I have seen charts from Rested Gal and College Girl showing the same with their Aura Headrest pillows. Of course if you wish to define "zero leak" differently ... that is indeed your opinion.
However I do apologize for placing you on the defensive. It's just that your posts always sound so infomercial like for the Hybrid and Bravo ... I'll not kid you about that anymore.
Best wishes.

The Hybrid is a truly revolutionary mask! Before it came out, thousands of mouth breathing patients like myself struggled with FF masks like UMFF, HC431 etc that blew air into my eyes and hurt the bridge of my nose. In fact, that's when I tried the Swift with a chin strap to get a break. That worked okay but when I got the Hybrid, it was by far the better option for most nights.
When I heard that the Bravo had similar soft pillows like the Hybrid, I got the Bravo and started using it with my chin strap. It has worked really well too and I prefer it for the more humid summer nights.
In my little world, the Hybrid and Bravo have been the best masks. So, it is natural that my reports on those products would be complimentary.

Mecocosm, I use a CL2 and get virtually no leaks with it. The Bravo leakage hs been much worse so far than my CL2. Waked my up continuously. I have already tried most of your suggestions. I have been trying to do the routing of the hose over the head, ala the CL2 and the Aura but it just isn't working. Tonight I am just going to try letting it hang down. I napped successfully with it that way this afternoon. It is lightweight and comfortable....if I can just get the leaks under control.

You have just proven another forum aphorism:
We are all different
(and react differently to many masks.)
