Anybody have experience with an SPO Medical 7500 Pulse Ox?
I'm seriously considering the purchase of a wrist type SPO Medical 7500 Pulse Oximeter from Turner Medical.
Has anyone had experience (good or bad) with that Pulse Ox? It seems very reasonably priced when compared with other similar machines.....and I just want to be sure that I don't purchase a unit with some sort of deficiency that I don't know about.
Any info will be appreciated.

I have the SPO 7500 recording pulse oximeter. I also have a Nonin Onyx non-recording oximeter. My sleep pulmo uses a Nonin Onyx to check my 02 sats and PR each time I see him as well as BP. I've repeatedly checked my Nonin Onyx against the "professional" oximeters at our hospital's Pulmonary Rehab and it has always been right on (w/in 2% allowance for different hand/finger). I've checked my SPO 7500 against my Nonin.
The software which comes w/the SPO 7500 was easy to install and easy to use.
That's not to say I didn't have a problem w/the SPO 7500. The On/Off button was difficult to use and I eventually broke it. NOT A PROBLEM. SPO Medical replaced it quickly. And they've corrected that problem w/the change in finger probe sensor to a rubber cup type of finger probe which turns the unit on when you insert your finger in the probe and turns the unit off when your finger is improved from the probe.

I have one, and I think it does okay, although it sometimes shows some desats into the 88% range that do not seem to correlate with apneic or hypopneic events, and that I would prefer to think were innacurate . A friend who works in the hospital is going to borrow a calibrated hospital grade oximeter for me to calibrate against.
I had to replace the battery pretty early, and they had to send me another cable, but they've been pretty responsive. I understand that they have improved the sensor, and I wouldn't doubt that they have moved from Rev A electronics by now. There was also some mention of them making it work with Profox for medical professionals, but the bundled software isn't so bad. No worse that Encore Pro ...

I found the SPO software MUCH BETTER than EncorePro! Easier to install and easier to use and understand. But then I didn't play around w/EncorePro too much before deciding I liked my Resmed AutoScan 5.7 much better and went back to my Resmed and loaned my RemStar to my son-in-law. Resmed's AutoScan was also easier to install, use and understand than EncorePro. There was no need for a prescription to purchase the SPO 7500. SPO has been great when I've had questions or the problem w/the On/Off button that I broke. Their response has always been immediate.
In case you haven't guessed I'm not a techie. What do you mean they've probably moved from Rev A electronics ??? Curiosity killed the cat.

I have read about other people having some trouble with them.
For my own use, I did not want something attached to my wrist as well as my finger. I chose to buy this one.

I should get it in a few day, when I try it out ill post here about it.
The website seems to have pretty good customer service, they answered my questions right away.
Always send an e-mail to any new place you are ordering from just to test their customer service. A lesson I learned the hard way.

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...
Awwww, come on, SnoreDog!!!
I haven't asked him if he's tried using the EncorePro and MyEncore yet. He was going to try to see if his brother's Respironics Virtuoso LX would work w/EncorePro v.1.5.7 too and I forgot all about asking him if he's tried that either.
I had a loaner RemStar Auto w/C-Flex and later bought my own RemStar Auto w/C-Flex (the "tank") because I wanted an Auto. I liked my S8 Elite and AutoScan 5.7 software so when a used Resmed S8 AutoSet Vantage w/only 505 hours on it, complete, became available I jumped at the chance to buy it. My son in law is now using the "tank".slinky wrote: ... went back to my Resmed and loaned my RemStar to my son-in-law. ...

AndyOmega, please do let us know how you do w/this new recording oximeter you've bought. There seem to be quite a few of us here who have been interested in checking our desats during the night.
