are they accurate?

I guess it can be compared to the gas gage in your automobile, you know it says "E" but you don't know if you have a gallon left or a half gallon left.

When the engine light comes on, at least you know "E" wasn't for "Enough"

I think they are pretty good at "detecting" events, but they are not very good at differentiating them.

The reports and data seen all are derived from the internal software function calls. The sensors are very sensitive, even the Respironics sensors are sensitive enough to detect cardiac oscillations like the 420e does at the end of a 5.5ft hose, but they don't appear to take advantage of it most likely because of patent issues.

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

It was meant for DMEs as its a just about a full blown Human Resources package. In encore Pro, you can enter multiple patients,, Doctors' info and various DME locations(the software can work over a network). They should create a "light" version that does not have the HR features.

I asked my provider about software to monitor my therapy while she was showing me my new machine and I swear she looked at me as if I suddenly had two heads. Then she told me my machine cannot do that. Of course she didn't even know my machine had an ultra fine filter either.

I cannot use software but I watched her get into the setup menu. She did it three times and attempted to explain to me how I can change the ramp time but its not functional with apap and all my settings were default. Clearly she had no idea what she was doing.
Anyway, I decided to buy an oximeter to see if half my problems are fixed.
The other half, well im looking into drugs for the mysterious awakenings.
Im trying Valerian root extract this week.

Thanks for explaining this stuff to me

She told you that? Or is that what you believe?
It is functional in the M Series Auto.

Its what she told me.

Andy, if you want to use the Ramp feature in auto mode on your M-Series Auto, here's an old post by Snoredog you might find helpful:

viewtopic.php?p=157789#157789

The setup info is at the bottom of his post. (Obviously, you'll want to substitute your own values!)

Yeah, it was definitely created for DMEs. It's too bad more of them don't actually use it (aside from checking compliance). Imagine their surprise (and horror) when they discovered their customers were using it on their own. I suspect they mounted a furious campaign with the manufacturers to keep it out of our hands. After all, the more we know and the more we can take control of our own treatment, the less we need our DMEs. They'd likely prefer the majority of patients not realize DMEs are an unnecessary, expensive and time-consuming middleman when it comes to XPAP therapy!
