I keep trying to post a photo of my cat on my profile and it never works. Is it because the file is too large?

Out of the many cats that I've ever had, I don't think there was even one that stopped doing any annoying habit, regardless of what I did to stop them!
It all depends on how hard the pop to the ass is.

It may be possible that it's too large. You may need an avatar sizer, and many of them are a free dowload. Just do a google search for "avatar sizer", and you should be able to find one. The one I have is quite easy to use.

Ahh for the life of a cat. My wife and I who have never been animal people have been totally hoodwinked by a cat into taking her into our home, feeding her, providing medical care, toys and love, ONLY TO HAVE HER TOTALLY IGNORE US MOST OF THE TIME! No question that cat's are smarter than people.
I just want to go back to sleep!
