Water in the Face

Post by kwrnr1961 » Fri Apr 01, 2005 6:58 am

I've had the Remstar Pro for several months and still have not fully adjusted to it. Lately, I'm having a problem with water coming through the tube and into the mask. This usually happens 2 or 3 hours after I fall asleep, which of course wakes me up and forces me to ditch the mask for the rest of the night. I called this into the medical supplier support staff and they said I should try adjusting the heat on the humidifier. It was originally on 3, so I tried 2, which didn't work and then 1, which still doesn't work. Any suggestions??? Help!

What you are experiencing is called rainout. Get an Aussie heated hose, it will eliminate it.

or keep your bedroom a little warmer

or wrap some insultation round the hose

or try to keep the hose under the bedclothes to keep it warmer

or a combination of all of these

Those might work, but the Aussie hose always works... IMHO...

Yes, I don't doubt that, just some suggestions that can be tried more immediately...

Also, click the autolinked word ---> rainout <---- to read our CPAPopedia definition of it.
