How do you turn off Resmed S8 AutoSet Vantage?

Post by ScottK » Sun Jun 24, 2007 2:55 pm

I just started on Thursday, and have been doing better than I thought. Just have a question on CPAP machine. What do I do when I am not using machine. I can't find an on/off switch, and if I leave it plugged in, there is a very small, steady air flow out of hose. Do I unplug it all the time? Can I leave it plugged in on "standby" mode? I would appreciate any help.

I leave my machine plugged in. The machine continues to blow a gentle amount of air for about 1 hour after the treatment flow is shut off, then it stops blowing altogether.

Good idea to have it plugged into a surge protector. If you did that, you could turn it off via the switch on the surge protector.

I was told the resmeds do this to dry out hose and mask. But that was the DME talking.....and we know how much they know most of the time.

Isn't that the truth, tho, JennMary!!!! Altho, what your DME said almost makes sense. I had to say almost 'cause on accounta it was a DME that said it.
