Once Upon a Time...
...there was a little Tinky who wanted to go to the ball and dance in her dreams. She got all dressed up, put on her best tiara, and headed out the door. At the palace, she put on some nice glass slippers to complete the ensemble.
No matter how long I dance at the ball in Cinderella's slippers, my feet are always gonna hurt because they are inherently wrong for me. On the other hand, the shoes I left on the palace porch are at least a decent fit to start with. I can break in new shoes, but breaking glass slippers is not worth the pain. It finally dawns on me that my options are to forever curse and limp in slippers that fit like glass shards... or retrieve mine by the door. OK. So I'll change into mine. Sounds easy enough.
So our little Tinky returned to the palace door, only to find a whole array of shoes. (Apparently you were all invited to the ball, as well.) To make a long story longer... while all of you were dancing barefoot in her dreams, the Tinkster started disinfecting and trying on all your cast off shoes.
Naw, these are too big to dance in and I'll trip over some long hose or hissing box on the dance floor. Nah, these are too floppy and make embarrassing blubbery noises when I wear them. Ahh, these make me say "ahh" when I put them on and strangely makes me repeat the sound when I later tell the tale. These must be mine... perhaps... at least for now. I think.
Suddenly our heroine found herself surrounded by barefooted... um... no, just bears. Three to be exact. (Dreams are weird that way.) Miss Tinky tried to help them find their shoes, but apparently Goldilocks had grabbed the smallest pair for the next ball... thinking that they were JUST RIGHT. The little bitty baby bear said he was glad he didn't have to wear shoes like some circus geek. The raven haired dinkytink contemplated a name change and made a salon appointment by cell phone as she descended the steps. Looking back, she winked and Baby Bear gave her a thumbs up.
May you all find your best fitting shoes so you can dance in your dreams.
