My guess would be that you live in an area with a high relative humidity. In our area (Michigan,) not only could I not conceive of not using my heated humidifier, but the one I have is not fully adequate in the winter, when temperatures drop to below zero at times and the relative humidity also plummets.

Wonderful that you are able to comfortably do without, though.

I couldn't do without mine either, though I had to adjust mine up higher this weekend when I was in Kentucky for a wedding- I had just turned it down a month or so ago to adjust for summers high humidity here in Michigan. It was weird to feel the difference in humidity- it was warmer there, but not as 'sticky' as back here in Michigan. Thank goodness I have central air....
BTW- you may want to look into F&P 150 HH for winter- it is more then adequate, even here in Michigan's dry winters with forced air heat. I don't know how anyone could ever could use it at maximum setting without drowning in rainout, I could never get past the 'air to thick to breath' feeling when mine accidentally got bumped to high. It was a major adjustment for me this past winter with my 2i for my VPAP Adapt...though I did cheat a couple times and pull my trusty F&P out for the worst nights to keep my sinuses happy.

Oh, yeah!!! There was a while this winter that my Humidaire 3i could NOT provide ENOUGH humidity and I had to resort to a F&P HC 150 stand alone. God bless that HC, it sure saved my bacon!!! And God bless the fellow cPAPper who first loaned it to me and then gave it to me!!!

And there's only been a couple of nights that I've had to turn the Humidaire 3i totally off this summer. Actually for the most part I'm running it on 1.

Yes, I do live in south Louisiana where the humidity is very high, but have central air conditioner in house.
Perhaps my throat tissues are kept hydrated with the humidity when outdoors?

I used a humidifier for the first year, but when I traveled, I didn't bring the humidifier, and noticed no ill effects. So, I thought I would try discontinuing using it, and everything has been ok.

I have been having the same problem for 2 years now. I am not sure but I got a different mask from the masks I used before , and it seems to have solved the problem Not sure but I have been using a Nasl Pillow set up for about a week now and I have a humidifier but have never had to use it.
