Since your insurance is paying 100% (of whatever monthly charges) the upgrade option is not too bad.

I am willing to bet that the difference between the initial charge and the $60 som dollar monthly charge is that the humidifier and mask is an outright purchase. Probably billed you for the hose too.

So, if you ever decide to give back the machine to the DME keep you humidifier, mask and hose...

And......IF you have a deductible......make sure your insurance provider gets your contract paid BEFORE that "end of year" period is up (most are calendar, some are fiscal) because if your contract runs past that, your deductible will kick in again and you'll be paying even more. That's why lots of these contracts run for 13 months. Even in 10 months, it'll probably run past the "end of year"..

Know ALL the details.

Ha! Good point, Den! Mebbe that's why Medicare insists on a 13 month capped rental?? And this year is our first year w/a deductible with our secondary insurance as well.
