Re: Spam Reporting and Abuse Policy
I read those posts - no help was offered there - just hounding a member for more personal details. Easy to jump to a conclusion when the pattern is obvious.Guest wrote:I have not posted a question (for myself) for many years. I come here to help others but that is hard to do when the post gets deleted simply because you are a guest or someone simply disagrees with your thought.ems wrote:If there are questions you'd like answers to you are only hurting yourself by not signing up; that's really the bottom line.
Plus there are no guarantees that these same people aren't deleting other members posts simply because someone doesn't agree with a thought.
I wish I could say it is entertaining to watch the gang mentality of the clairvoyant folks here getting on their "Jump to Conclusion Mats" - but ask yourself why would someone want to say they are part of that?
I'd have to say that many of these clairvoyants are not sleeping well.
Thanks for the offer ems.

If you have your previous prescription (and you should), you could buy a new one from an online seller.......and probably be money ahead on deductibles and co-pays.
Does he have an interest (financial) in the sleep lab?
They make far more money on 2-night studies than on split-night studies.
I had a split-night study, nine years ago. I wouldn't even consider a 2-night one.
Fact is, if you have the paperwork and a script from a study you took before being Medicare eligible, they will honor it as long as it meets the Medicare requirements.
So for those who do NOT want to be subject to the dx portion of the study, etc. be forewarned if your doc, lab, or dme starts talking that way that you are part of a money mill operation.
Re: Spam Reporting and Abuse Policy
For whatever it's worth to you, I'm quite sure you aren't a troll. But again I have to tell you that the things you just mentioned happen in any forum. You have to take what feels right to you and leave the rest. I can tell you honestly that I wouldn't have continued using my machine had it not been for some of the people on this forum. I asked (and still ask) the most stupid questions and 99% of my questions are answered. There are some knowledgeable and caring people here. There are also some obvious jerks. You'll learn quickly who you can trust and rely on and who you wouldn't even bother responding to. You say... why would someone want to be a part of that gang mentality- and I get that. But, in the long run, especially if a person is new to CPAP/BPAP stuff, there is so much to be learned here. If you'd care to PM me, I'll tell you who is on my list of knowledgeable and caring folks.Guest wrote:I have not posted a question (for myself) for many years. Once again it PM someone on this forum, you must register, something too hard to accomplish, or maybe free is too costly. It's better to remain a"guest", than to pick a simple fake name to pretend behind. The sand keeps leaking out of the hole, I don't think it will ever fill up, keep pouring.

Would you care to explain exactly how much money is actually getting "sucked in" in the "money mill operation"?Guest wrote:Also many labs and DMEs will insist you need a new study every 5 yrs. esp if changing over to Medicare. That is not true and is where the money sucking begins.

Here's the reimbursement schedule for sleep studies. Keep in mind that HSTs are running about 50% of volume these days:

Perhaps if you posted something factual or constructive instead of P&Ming about everything, people wouldn't be wiping your posts out.
