ResMed Full Face Masks - Versions

Post by eblack » Mon Mar 28, 2005 12:42 pm

Just a bit confused... Which of the ResMed Full Face masks is the newest, the Series II or the Ultra? Are there other models? What are the significant differences and do they matter?

Thanks,
Eric

I believe the Series II is newer, but I do not know if it is better.

ResMed Full Face Masks - Versions

I have to agree with "th". I have never tried the Series II, but I have (2) Ulta's and think that they are great. Although at present, I am having a "mask war" with my Utra. This is not the mask's fault. It is called a "human" thing The forehead piece is giving me fits. I must realize that the plastic is not going to bend to fit my head.

I think RESMed makes the best mask on the market but, I haven't tried any other brands. I've heard too many bad things about the others, so I am going to stick with my Ultra.

My basic opinion, is to find one that works for you and stick with it.

While we are on the subject, any suggestions on how to make the forehead pad any more comfortable or pliable?

Sleep well

The "Ultra" masks are the newer.

"Series 2" are older.

hi herky,

You asked...

You know those commercials on TV for the Tempur-Pedic mattress? They mention calling a tollfree number to get a free sample of the foam. I'll bet cutting off a piece of the sample Tempur-Pedic foam would make a great pad for the forehead piece of a mask. It's so much more resiliant than other kinds of foam.

while we're on the subject of the ResMed ultra mirage FF: Despite the rude response I got to the question I asked last time I still maintain that it makes a difference with the face cushion how you care for it. My six+ month old ultra FF seals well and rarely if ever leaks in the night. The newer one which I purchased recently has a tendency to leak more often during the night. My current hypothesis is that since the older one has has the face cushion pulled off and worked about in my hands during the process of cleaning more often that somehow the silicone has been more "broken in". So I just wanted to report my findings- maybe this helps if you're springing leaks.
