used PAP

One place you can get PAP is on craigslist.com

due to the limitation of each city having its own list- that is, you cannot search the entire country, j ust individual cities, you must click on large cities- atlanta- sanfrancisco- dallas etc to find what is availabe there.

it is not an auction- the person lists it at a set price and you answer the person blindly and go from there,.

There seems to be some real bargains there as well as some not so good ones.

Used Machines

Post by slepr » Fri Jun 08, 2007 8:30 am

I have an almost new Resmed S8 Autoset Vantage + H3i humidifier that I'd like to part with. Asking $600. Less than 30 hours use. I was moved to a BIPAP so this machine will just sit. I too am concerned about the Yahoo auctions going away. There were some great bargain on that website, but no more.

Here's the thing, According to laws in every state, setting the pressure for someone for money, including the sale of the machine, is practicing withouth a license. Be very careful offering something like that.

You can't legally sell the machine without a prescription, that's a totally different marketing issue. But setting the pressure for someone else, that's a biggie. Doing it for a friend for no money is not illegal, doing it when you're making a profit is. That's why DME's can't do it without a Dr's order. Illigal, illegal.

Just a caveat.

Well I am licensed, but that does not matter if starting an auction site. It would be peer to peer, which I don't know what the laws are regarding such a thing. I would obviously get a legal opinion before ever starting such a thing. I suspect it can not be done or else it would have already.

What if the person buying sent a copy of the drs script before shipment? Then you are not selling without prescription. What if you didnt change the pressure....but gave instructions on how to do it? Just questions....not really leaning either way on this.

I've seen a bunch of xpaps on sell.com

But it's the "heated humidifiers" on ebay that ya have to keep an eye open for. I saw one that said the auction was for a heated humidifer and they were throwing in a 'flow generator' for free......pretty slick.
