Luckily for me I HAD thick hair, but the swift yanks it, snaps it, and the chin straps finish it off all together.

I use the Swift n. pillow. How can I use any of those head gears, with the Swift? Or not??????????????.........................

Let's put it this way. Before CPAP I was not losing hair. The first week of using the Breeze, I could tell my hair was breaking off down the midline. One month after starting CPAP I switched to the Swift. Because I'm a mostly right side sleeper, and because of the location of the straps, which I kept fairly loose, I started noticing a definite decline in hair thickness on the right side of my head after about a week, when this used to be the thickest side of my hair.

I went for the lace cap because of the airflow capability. If I use this under the mask headgear it should make a difference and within a few weeks, possibly more I should see a return to hair growth if it does indeed make a difference since there willl be no direct contact with my hair. And if I have to pay $34 plus shipping to get my hair back, then so be it.

And Wader, have you priced those DD or DDD bras lately? "Cause that's about the side one would need for a small head. I can just see you going into Walmart and checking out with one of those!

Can't say that I have. ...But I do have a wife and two daughters, so I am familiar with the outrageous cost of womens undergarments... Almost as bad as CPAP equipment.

Thank You!
This was exactly my argument to my girlfriend when she asked me to use a condom!

"Gee, honey, do you really want to suffocate the walls of your... private area? That's an important organ!"

Liam, twisted.

Balding

Post by fyuta » Tue Jul 08, 2008 4:42 pm

I have been using the mirage swift for about 3 years. I like it, but the top strap is causing my hair to fall out only where the strap sits. This bald line on my head is very disconcerting. I tried using a thin skull cap and it helped a bit, but the my head is still balding in the pattern of the top strap, especially on my left side since I sleep mostly on my left side.

I am not going bald naturally. I have read other reports of this problem, so I dont think this issue is unique to me.

I have searched for headgear that avoids the top strap, but so far I cannot find anything in a nasal pillow headgear setup that doesn't use the top strap other than the Adam, but I dont like how the tube is routed up to the top of your head.

I may have to make my own headgear for the Mirage Swift mask that I have.

Maybe your girlfriend thought it would be OK for your 9.9 second sprints.
