Sleep Clinics in Portland OR

Post by momadams » Sat May 26, 2007 7:56 pm

I'd like to have some recommendations for sleep clinics in Portland, OR, preferably some which deal with insomnia in addition to apnea testing.

Dr. Lefor has been good. I went to the sleep clinic at Providence on NE 40 something and Glisan for my sleep study. He also referred me to a psychologist that specializes in treating ciradian rhythm disorders (which I didn't follow through on since my insomnia went away post CPAP). My DME isn't that great, but the lab was good to me.

That's a good start. Thanks.
Any feelings about OHSU?

Blarg, I have been wanting to try a Soyala nasal mask. Did you buy one about a year ago? Would you still recommend it and if so how do they compare in size? I am now using an Activa small.

Sorry, that is a little off the subject. Also I used to live in Washington and worked one summer in Springfield and Eugene area. Now I live in Central Texas.

Just over the river in Vancouver, WA is the Pacific Sleep Center at
360-397-3606, just in case you don't find what you need in Portland.

I've never even been there, not even to visit anyone or anything, so I can't help you much on that point.

As for the Soyala, it's a good mask. Yes, I'd still recommend it. It has to be a bit tighter than the Activa but is a lot smaller and MUCH quieter.

I'm not sure what you mean by Activa "small". I'm only aware of Standard and Shallow sizes... My Soyala Medium is smaller than an Activa Large and about the same size as an Activa Shallow. The Activa Shallow eats away at my nose bridge but the Soyala Medium doesn't, but I'd say that they're about the same size, Soyala Medium being a smidge bigger if anything.
