nose rug

Post by teach » Sat May 26, 2007 8:56 am

I don't know who had the last post but I want to think them for the "nose rug" concept. After wrestling with my new mask I finally cut out a triangle from a wash cloth. I couldn't believe what a difference it made. ( I think the humidity of summer has made the mask rub on my skin) I don't need to stuff the shape but plan to make a few out of fleece (doesn't unravel) and rotate them in the wash.. or.. heck they are cheep, maybe just throw them away. Great idea!!! Teach

This seems to be a helpful hint I have missed and a search did not help. What is a nose rug and how does it work? I couldn't use my UMFF last night because a sore developed on my nose from the pressure. Since it is my mask of choice, if a nose rug will help, I'd certainly like to give it a try.

Some one was talking about making a little pillow deal... I just traced my mask on fabric and cut it out leaving a 1/2 edge around the line. Then I cut out the middle enough for my nose to fit. It seemed to keep the mask off my face and I didn't get the leaking. I'm thinking of making a little bigger on the outside edge because the air sometimes blows in my eyes. I know it shouldn't but it does so I'm thinking it might divert the air a bit.

If you're getting leaks into your eyes AND it's rubbing you raw, it sounds like it might be time to consider getting a different mask...

Hey, Teach, keep in mind that Resmed, Respironics and Fisher & Paykel replace these masks we try on at the local DME's or take back to our local DME w/in a week or two FREE TO THE DME for the simple effort of filling out a form and sending it to the manufacturer.

That just might give you the leverage you need for them to be a bit more compliant and helpful in finding the "right" mask for you. Good luck!

Geez Karen, nice pic!

Hey, how come you don't offer a full line of tube covers, too? I'm getting tired trying to figure out how to cover the short tubes. The 6 footer was not problem. The short tubes need so many twists, and turns, and extra openings....

And were's the link to the jewelry and other nifty stuff you make that you talk about on your website? I just love online shopping...

LOL,
Barbara

Fun Stuff

Post by Pad A Cheek » Sun May 27, 2007 3:20 pm

Hey Babette,
I am so busy doing all the PAD A CHEEK business that I only get to do the beaded zipper pulls or beaded spiders or other fun stuff as a relaxation sometimes.

I am happy if anyone wants me to send them a picture of stuff I do, or you can email me for more information about them.

I do sell them too, but I do not sell them on my website, guess I could couldn't I?? I thank you for your kind words.

As far as the smaller hose covers I would be happy to help you, I do not do the large hose covers because so many others do those already.

If I can help you, just let me know.

Karen Moore

Well that explains it! Glad your business is keeping you supplied in masks and bonbons!

Oh, I'm just whimpering right now. I can probably figure out how to cover the Breeze tube that's causing me some rainout right now. I'm thinking a completely split tube with velcro running down both sides, and then I can pop out whatever part needs to be popped out, and still get it on and off quickly for daily cleaning.

Though I suppose if it's the end-all, be-all Breeze fleece cover design, I could pass it on to you and you could sell it.

Great work and thanks much Karen!
Barbara

Scary! Not show this to any adults who have untreated apnea either!

I have some family and friends who I'm trying to convince to be tested. I've chosen to show some of them my Swift as an example of a mask. They'll find out the truth later (mouth taping, wrapping your head in Ace bandages to control blowfish, KY jelly in your nose, and JohnTee's contraption if you saw that photo. We tell them these things only when they have been tested, titrated and have undergone the secret OSA society initiation rituals

Oh thank heavens... Is THAT what the sheep were doing in my bedroom?

Hey, now that I'm fully initiated, can I get the secret decoder ring and handshake?

LOL,

Padacheek-

No leaks with the fleece between you and the mask? That might be the answer to my "oily skin breaks the seal" problem if I need to use the FP432... Let me know.

Karen! I just had a brainstorm: CPAP JEWELRY! For the girl who has everything - bling for the mask!

Okay, maybe the Mongolian Beef was a little too spicy tonight...

LOL,
B.

PS - I love the silk pads on your site! Great idea!
