I have taken the top off of 2 of my 3 cpaps.

I took apart and cleaned up an old Remstar Choice LS and have it set to my "swift" pressure.

I have taken apart the Pro 2 twice to attempt to clean dust out of the motor. The main board for the Pro 2 is the same as for the APAP according to the board.

Now the question is, do these things work afterwards - ------------ did they blow up?

they work fine !!

I must admit I haven't taken apart the APAP yet - give me time.

I am also one to take apart computers and salvage parts but don't ask me how to turn on the TV. I don't know how to do that.

As far as the above comment about pirating encore pro - at least one of us has chosen to use a purchased copy and has not accepted copies offered by others on the forum.

let me tell you my RemStar Auto story.
I bought a used one at a low price. When I opened it, I knew why the
price was so low. It was in a cigarette smoker's house, and it stank bad.
So, I got some "smell killer", I don't remember the brand, and proceded
to take it apart.

I cleaned everything inside with the smoke chaser, put it back together,
and all was well. It even ran perfectly. However, it now had the faint odor
of the smoke chasing detergent. I could not leave well enough alone, so I
opened it back up to give it a vinegar bath, and what did I find? The smoke
chasing detergent had softened the plastic ears on the mototr housing, and
all the snaps fell off. I tried taping the motor housing, but no luck. It just
won't run.

Its for sale , 50 USD, low hours and looks great....

+ Aussie heated hose.

Well stated, although I did have a problem with Sears, not selling me repair parts for a Microwave. After I got them straightened out, the ended up selling me the parts to repair it. It's probably cost Sears over ten thousand dollars, as I cut up my CC and mailed them the pieces, and have not purchased a product from them in 10 years.

As I've said before, I vote with my billfold. If you want my money, it doesn't pay to treat me badly. Jim
