ResMed S7 Lightweight

Post by jabberwock » Fri May 18, 2007 9:03 am

I may be able to get a slightly used (4 months) ResMed S7 Lightweight with humidifier. I would still prefer to find something that will give me more than compliance data, I thought this one might be good for back-up and/or travelling.

Would appreciate feedback from anyone who uses, or has used, this machine.

Thank you.

Bonnie

Jabberwock:

I have the Resmed S7 (not sure if it is the lightweight) but it has the built in humidifier. If it has a way to get more compliance data beyond days and hours used, I do not know how to do it. Perhaps my unit is different. I have had it since the fall of 2004.

I know someone who has one. It seems great for travel. This guy has had it for a year with no problems. He doesn't use the humidifier though. I think the reason that you are getting no replies is that it's a fairly old model, so maybe no one has one anymore. You might try a search for the S7 and look at some of the earlier posts.

Thanks for the replies. I did do a forum search and didn't come up with a whole lot there either.

I started out my CPAP treatment with an S7 Lightweight when it was the "brand new" model replacing the S6, and used it while travelling without any problems.

I still use the S7 all the time at home but bought an S8 Lightweight for travelling as it is smaller and can be DC (battery) powered, which is useful for long haul in-flight usage. Apart from size and power options, both the S7 and S8 are pretty much the same in terms of effective CPAP treatment delivery devices.

As far as "compliance" goes, if you are not having any problems using CPAP and are seeing sustainable benefits from using it (as in consistently getting a good night's sleep), you don't really have any compliance issues that you need to be monitoring.

Cheers,

Bill
