I think I have the flu - Saline Rinse Survey?
Hi,
I was curious if anyone had expiremented with multiple saline rinses and which one they felt was best, or if most of you had success on your first try.
The reason I am asking is I recently got the flu and I read that rising out your sinuses with saline can help you when it comes to sleep and/or feeling better. I saw people refering to it with a cold but I'm not sure if that also applied to the flu.
Also is there anytime anyone would reccomend NOT using CPAP when you are sick? I'm assuming just if I have a sinus infections or something.

My favorite is Simply Saline - the stuff comes in a can, is terribly overpriced, but it works very well. I keep a can in the kitchen, one in the bathroom, and one next to my tv chair. Sitting in my recliner, inhaling saline from a spout completes the Mos Isley picture; the minute I donned my Swift, I started channeling Star Wars. My dear husband says he prefers to refer to the Swift as my Seven-of-Nine Borg Regeneration Device. He's such a sweetie.

Re: I think I have the flu - Saline Rinse Survey?
Hi
I have trouble with my sinuses sometime and my job does not help.
My wife makes me a solution of salt and water with which I can flush
out my nostrils using a baby ear syringe
Works fine

neti pot and sinuclenz
I got a neti pot (like a little pitcher) and packets of sinuclenz and I use them at night before I go to bed with warm water. clears my sinuses right out!
I use NeilMed Sinus Rinse. The 8-oz. squeeze bottle and 50 packets of sodium mixture was about $10 at CVS.
I especially like that the individual packets are easy to travel with.
I found the info at
http://blogs.webmd.com/allergies-and-as ... -2006.html
to be very helpful.
A sinus rinse and Flonase each day have made a big difference for me.

I use a good pinch of "natural" salt in about a 1/4 to 1/3 cup warm water, and the blue baby syringe.
Simple and easy
I do it twice a day.
HIGHLY recommended

i use the neilmed rinse also, but here in canada it's more like $22 for the kit with the bottle and 50 packets, and around $20 for the refill box of 100 packets...still like it, though, no muss, no fussI use NeilMed Sinus Rinse.
