Personally, I think the reason they do it, and their reward is the simple satisfaction that they CAN do it.
Sweet smell of success? Some satisfaction!
I'd rather be doing something constructive with that knowledge.

Maybe it has to do with search engine positioning. If you were to post a link here, would it show up as a legitimate link to the search bots???

I think it is now time to stop unregistered "guests" from posting into the forum(s).
Hey! As an unregistered guest poster, I resemble that remark! Oh, and by the way, would you like to enlarge a "certain part" of your body, or refinance your mortgage? Heheh... just kidding.

Seriously, don't turn off guest posting... lots of people have valid reasons to use it.

Although, I agree if the spam gets horrible, then maybe. But I don't think it's bad enough yet.
