"People who say they slept like a baby apparently never had one"
I started reading this board before my study, bought my equipment (no insurance) and decided I wanted to live. I read all the information I could and slept with the mask from the first night. I have had to purchase several masks, had trouble with leaks, software issues, rainout and just plain taking off the mask in the middle of the night. BUT, I kept reading, got encouragement and realized that everyone here has walked the same road and if they could be a "hosehead" then I could too!
It is a simple concept . . . support, education and encouragement always achieves the best results . . .
Thank God I found this forum!
(By the way, hmmmm, just what is going on with that avatar?)

The more I think about it, the more grateful I am to this forum.
I did a great deal of reading, and asked a few questions, before I did my sleep study. As a result, I was prepared to deal with my first CPAP experiences. I knew much of what to expect, and that lowered my anxiety. I also learned two very important things:
1. I HAD to do this
2. I COULD do this
Had I had to rely solely on my sleep doc, and the DME for support, there may have been a different outcome.

Wake me up when this is over...
