Use the longer ten foot hose, then you could put more of it in the bag prewarming the air. Jim
First camping trip. Ugh.
I have the Respironics battery also and I have been trying to figure out how to warm the air in the passover mode. Don't know if this would work but I called the aussie hose people and asked about running the hose on battery. It's an expensive option but this is what they said.

G'Day Eileen from Australia " down under"
The heated hose as standard will operate from a 12 volt DC source eg
battery " no problems" you can use aligator type battery clips
you would need to have a simple lead made up for connection ... any
elec
supplier eg "Radio Shack" could advise you
The power use is 11 Watts /hr
Hope this helps

In that case, when running directly from a 12V battery supply, you need to allow approx one Amp Hour (1 AH) of battery capacity for every hour you use the heated hose, or an additional 7 to 8 AH per night above whatever power your xPAP blower draws.Murphy wrote:The power use is 11 Watts /hr

Re: 12V Adapter for Respironics RemSTAR Auto, Error E-45
Here's the manual for the Respironics branded-cord:danorton wrote:Does the 12V adapter have any electronics in it? I tried a straight through cable from Radio Shack and the device quit and started beeping with Error E-45 after about 5 minutes. (It blew the 2A fuse, too, but the device clearly indicates 3A is required.)
Here's the battery I'm hooking up to ($54 from Pep Boys)

Thanks for any clues.

Answering my own question, it's a straight-through cord, available from Radio Shack. The Radio Shack cord comes with several AdaptaPlugs, but not the correct one, which is AdaptaPlug "N" (connected as a positive tip). The Radio Shack cord also comes with a 2A fuse which needs to be replaced with a 3A fuse (possibly a quick-blow, but I'm not sure).
Apparently the reason is didn't work for me is that my Remstar Auto won't work on 12V at pressures above 11cm, so when I get home today I'm going to reprogram it and try again. I'll post here if that doesn't work.
